![]() ![]() We love eating at small authentic restaurants, especially from smaller countries like Taiwan, and my husband was really excited after seeing what they had to offer. My husband and I went here twice in one week. Our server seemed visibly dissatisfied with our choice of payment, and since we didn’t speak Chinese, we weren’t notified. Just beware that when you pay with card, tip and tax are baked into the bill. ![]() ![]() While I probably wouldn’t come back for their food, it was still an interesting experience. The shrimp dumplings that we ordered as appetizers came out last, and these were also just alright. The pork was slightly overcooked and dry on the inside, but I liked its flavors and its crispy batter. The wonton soup was just okay, but the pork chops were better. We ended up ordering several Taiwanese dishes that sounded like the most popular menu.įor the main dishes, we had the Taiwanese fried pork chop and the Taiwanese style wonton soup. We’ve been to quite a lot of restaurants in Chinatown but still felt like neophytes struggling to figure out what’s best. Their vast menu featured over a hundred dishes, and navigating the menu was a bit daunting. Since we didn’t have a lot of experience with Taiwanese food, we decided to give them a try. While looking for a place without a wait line in Chinatown on the weekends, my friends and I found this place. ![]() Taiwanese restaurant with average food and service. I would never want anyone to feel like a business cheated them out of their money. I understand the frustrations of a language barrier, BUT there is no need to be rude, dismissive, and I’ll-mannered towards non-Chinese speakers.Īlthough the food was tasty, I would not recommend friends to eat here based on service alone. She didn’t even clarify if the unprovided dishes were removed. She rushed me to checkout - which I did, despite the fact that my mom wanted to order more. I went up to speak with a younger lady at the register and she was extremely rude. Our waitress was understandably flustered and so were we. They don’t mark the food that had already come out to our table and when we disputed the dishes that had not yet come out to our table, our waitress did not understand English after multiple returns to our table for clarification. After we ordered, the food and drinks came quickly, but then we noticed they were missing dishes from our markup as we are enjoying our meal. I thought it was more efficient than waiting on a cart, but I was wrong. The menu was to be marked with a pen with the dishes we wanted. We arrived at 10:30AM on a Friday with plenty of empty tables to choose from to sit at. I would be delighted to go somewhere else for authentic ones. Albeit this place offers some authentic ones, however I would not go again just to eat some authentic Chinese cuisine again. Authentic Chinese cuisine is different from the Indo-Chinese and American Chinese one and I’m glad that I’ve had all of them tasted. Also, they charged for just normal water.ģ. However, in this case, neither it was satisfactory nor worth the money. It’s pricy!! I don’t have any problem in paying more if the food is good and satisfactory to my eyes. I’ve attached some photos for reference.Ģ. I’m not sure, may be, that’s what the authentic Chinese flat noodles is. For instance, flat rice noodles doesn’t mean that it would be superbly long and non-sticky noodles. However, it’s not kinda thing that we draw in our mind. You might think that the menu is saying this n that. There are few points that I would like to make for new goers:ġ. Good for family eating outs or with friends or colleagues. The decor is good and impressive- spacious with lots of sitting arrangements, good smell and a calming atmosphere. It was recommended to me, honestly, by my uber driver and she was so ecstatic while recommending. I was at this restaurant during the late quarantine time when things were pretty much opening up and also many restaurants opened up that time including this. ![]()
